Associate Professor Ilinka Terziyska, PhD, holds a faculty position at the Tourism Department of Southwest University “Neofit Rilski” (Bulgaria), where she currently instructs various courses, including Introduction to Tourism, Cultural Tour Design, Cultural Tourism, Wine & Food Tourism, and Tourist Behaviour.
Her research pursuits encompass cultural and creative tourism, food and wine tourism, tourism experiences, and consumer behaviour. With over 30 publications to her credit, her works include two significant books, namely “Wine Tourism: Critical Success Factors for an Emerging Destination” and “Local Products and Festivals: The Tourism Perspective,” in addition to a comprehensive textbook focused on designing cultural tourism tours and routes.
A distinctive aspect of Ilinka Terziyska's expertise lies in project management. She has actively contributed to seven international projects under Interreg and Erasmus+ spanning entrepreneurship, vocational training, intangible heritage (with a focus on local products and festivals), as well as the preservation and promotion of cultural and natural heritage in wetland areas. Within these initiatives, she has held pivotal roles as Chairperson of the Steering Committee, an expert, and a trainer.
Moreover, Ilinka Terziyska boasts extensive experience in organizing scientific conferences. She stands as a key figure driving the series of international conferences titled “The Cultural Corridors of South-Eastern Europe: Cultural Tourism without Boundaries.”
