The FuTourAlliance project officially kicked off in Brussels, marking the start of a four‑year European initiative under the Erasmus+ Blueprint for Sectoral Skills Alliances. Building on the achievements of the Next Tourism Generation and PANTOUR projects, FuTourAlliance aims to strengthen Europe’s tourism workforce through destination‑level skills strategies and innovative learning pathways focused on green, digital, and inclusive competences.
As a key beneficiary, Zangador Research Institute (ZRI) brings extensive expertise to the consortium. Experts from ZRI played a central role in both previous projects, helping establish the foundations for tourism skills development across the EU and contributing significantly to Bulgaria’s national progress in this area.
During the kick‑off meeting, partners outlined the project’s strategic direction and reaffirmed their commitment to addressing the major challenges facing tourism in the coming decade—digital transformation, sustainability, workforce shortages, and evolving visitor expectations.
FuTourAlliance sets the stage for a coordinated European effort to modernise tourism skills and ensure that destinations, businesses, and professionals are equipped for a rapidly changing future.
