Observatory on tourism for island economy

Observatory on tourism for Islands Economy (OTIE) was founded in Palermo in 2007 by public institutions, universities, research centres and other international organizations as a non-profit organisation. It is the first observatory with a specific focus on island tourism and development. OTIE and Zangador Research Institute cooperate in the implementation of the following activities:

• Participation in research projects
• Organisation of events and workshops related to the challenges faced by islands
• Communication and cooperation with networks, European and international political bodies
• Training activities
• Shared access to databases concerning statistical data on islands, research, analyses, etc.
